The KANGAROO is one of Australia’s most popular animals.  The Kangaroo family also includes wallabies, wallaroos, tree kangaroos and rat kangaroos.  All roos are 2 footed with powerful back legs and long flat feet. They have an unusual hoping action, which uses less energy then 4 footed animals, however it prevents them from easily moving backwards. Kangaroos are marsupial animals, which mean they carry their young in a pouch.
